Lamborghini has shown off a brace of new limited edition sports cars slated for the garages of the rich and famous: the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster and Huracan Evo GT Celebration.
Shown at the Monterey car week in the US at the weekend, both models are extremely limited in number, bringing unique design, personalisation, go-fast parts and otherworldly performance.
First, the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster. Limited to 63 examples globally, the newcomer is based on the already-frenetic Aventador SVJ, making use of the same 566kW/720Nm 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine.
Differentiating the SVJ 63 Roadster is a choice of eight different design packages, each bringing unique interior and exterior finishes conceived by Lamborghini’s in-house personalisation program.
Carbon-fibre parts are naturally dripping from the Roadster, covering the roof panel, engine cover and vents, wing mirrors and windscreen rim. A similar theme manifests inside, with carbon-fibre trim throughout and special badging.
Denoting the car’s limited production, the Roadster is adorned in ‘63’ livery and is finished with numbered badging and titanium Leirion forged alloy wheels. It celebrates Lamborghini's 63rd anniversary.
The SVJ Roadster smashes the nought to 100km/h dash in 2.9 seconds, onwards to 200km/h from rest in 8.8 seconds and a top speed of 350km/h.
Deliveries of the SVJ 63 Roadster will begin in 2020. However, any would-be buyers can put the cheque book away; it’s already sold out.
Then, there’s the Huracan Evo GT Celebration, a limited run of 36 vehicles paying homage to Lamborghini’s GT3 victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring over past two years.
Limited solely to the US market, the Evo GT Celebration comes in any combination of three body colours and three livery colours – the hues used by the Grasser Racing Team.
Aside from paint, the Celebration features hexagons with the number ‘11’ on the inside of the doors and bonnet, along with 20-inch centrelock wheels.
Underneath resides the GT3 race car’s V10 engine mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox.
