Lamborghini Squadra Corse has released a new video teaser of a hard-core SVR hypercar it is developing to rival Ferrari's track-only FXX K.
Following on from the road-legal SC18, Lamborghini's motorsport division says the new SVR is already undergoing high-speed development on track.
Based on the current Aventador supercar, the SVR is powered by an uprated version of the big Lambo coupe's naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 that has been tuned to produce around 610kW.
No more information has been released, but from the obscure teaser it's possible to make out that the Aventador's carbon-fibre monocoque has been completely reclothed in a new carbon-fibre skin that looks like it features racecar-inspired aerodynamics.
At the front, the latest Lamborghini hypercar features a wedgy nose and a huge front splitter. A roof scoop is also evident, hinting that the V12 will feature ram-air induction at high speed.
At the rear, an enormous rear diffuser dominates, along with an imposing rear wing.
Lamborghini has already announced that it is considering entering the 2021 Le Mans hypercar category and it's believed that as well as being offered to wealthy track-day fans, the car teased here could provide the basis for a full factory-backed racer from the house of the raging bull.
If so, Le Mans homologation rules require Lamborghini to build 20 road-legal versions of the SVR over a two-year period.
