It was only a matter of time before one of the major tuning houses created a berserk Jeep Gladiator with enough punch to shame sports cars.
To be officially unveiled at the 2019 SEMA show in Las Vegas, the Hennessey Maximus 1000 is a Jeep Gladiator on steroids, pumping out an incredible 1000 horsepower.
In metric terms that's 745kW and with more than 1200Nm of torque, thanks to its supercharged V8 engine, the mad pick-up will be a litmus test for extreme versions and mods for the Jeep Gladiator.
The Jeep Gladiator dual-cab ute will be on sale in Australia "sometime" in 2020.
Australia is expected be the second biggest market for the Jeep dual-cab ute outside of North America according to the local importer, and prices are tipped to start at around $60,000.
This particular machine built by Texas-based tuning company Hennessey Performance will reportedly sell for around US$200,000 ($289,567 AUD).
The outrageous Gladiator pick-up is powered by a 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V8 engine driving through an eight-speed automatic transmission, with a grand total of 745kW of power and 1264Nm of torque hitting the skids.
To handle the power, Hennessey has added an upgraded ECU, wiring harness, radiator, fuel system and a stainless steel exhaust system.
The pumped-up Jeep Gladiator is also fitted with a six-inch lift kit, chunky 20-inch wheels wrapped in off-road rubber, new front and rear bumpers, LED driving lights and a custom interior leather package with embroidered seats.
The pumped-up Gladiator will be unveiled at next week’s SEMA show. In the meantime, you can have a listen to it in the official video.
