Peugeot prices new 5008

All-new French seven-seat SUV to arrive in February with premium pricing

Peugeot has revealed Australian pricing and specification details of its all-new large seven-seat SUV, the 5008, via its public website.

Due on sale here in February, the radical new 5008 (the old one was a people-mover) follows the launch of the facelifted 308 hatchback (this month) and 3008 small SUV (August), and the facelifted 2008 small SUV (February). The new 508 will complete Peugeot’s model range upgrade by mid-2018.

Like the 2008 and 3008, the three-grade 5008 line-up will come with premium pricing and features, with seven seats, an automatic transmission and a $42,990 (plus on-road costs) starting price for the entry-level Allure variant.

Standard safety equipment across the front-wheel drive SUV range includes autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with stop/go function, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition with intelligent speed adaption.

Also standard at base level are 18-inch alloy wheels, an 8.0-inch touch-screen infotainment system with satellite-navigation, Peugeot iCockpit 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, and wireless phone charging, digital radio, keyless entry/start, park assist, three individual second-row sliding seats and rear window sun blinds.

Also powered by a 121kW/340Nm 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine driving the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission is the mid-range 5008 GT Line, priced at $46,990 plus ORCs.

It comes standard with a hands-free powered tailgate, full LED headlights, auto high-beam, blind-spot detection, lane keep assist, driver attention alert, contrasting Diamond Black roof, black door mirror covers and a sportier front bumper and grille.

Topping the 5008 range will be the GT, powered by a 133kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel and priced at $52,990 plus ORCs.

Standard 5008 GT includes 19-inch alloys, Alcantara door and dashboard trim, a powered driver’s seat with memory and massage function, heated front seats, chromed wing mirrors and chunkier wheel-arch extensions.

Peugeot Australia is offering customers who pre-order a new 5008 an SUV Adventure Pack comprising roof bars, wind deflector, rubber floor and boot mats, luggage net and either a bike carrier, ski carrier or other roof bar attachment.
