Mitsubishi Australia has announced pricing and specifications for an upgraded version of its mid-size SUV, which is now available in showrooms.
Biggest news for the 20MY Mitsubishi Outlander is the fitment of forward collision mitigation for the entry-level ES variant, making autonomous emergency braking (AEB) standard across the range.
In addition, new standard equipment for the base ES also includes monotone 18-inch alloy wheels, auto wipers and headlights and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, while every model adds power lumbar adjustment, new second-row seats with extra cushioning, a USB charging port and updated HVAC controls.
A new overhead console is also included in all models except flagship Exceed AWD variants, incorporating a sunglasses holder, seatbelt reminder and passenger airbag shut-off indicator.
However, Exceed models gain a new 8.0-inch infotainment unit with Tom Tom navigation, speed limit information and the ability to update maps by downloading new files via USB and uploading them directly into the SDA unit.
Top-shelf Exceed models also score the latest version of Mitsubishi’s Super All Wheel Control with active yaw technology and Eco, Normal, Snow and now Gravel drive modes.
Prices are up across the line-up, by between $200 and $1000 over the 19MY Outlander, with the cheapest ES 2WD manual version now priced at $29,490 plus on-road costs (previously $29,290) and the top-spec Exceed AWD DiD auto now $46,790 plus ORCs (previously $45,790).
Powertrain options carry over unchanged, including 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre petrol plus 2.2-litre diesel, connected to either five-speed manual or CVT automatic transmissions (torque converter auto for the diesels) and front- or all-wheel drive.
Colour options across the 2020 Outlander range include White, Starlight, Sterling Silver, Titanium, Black, Ironbark and Red diamond.
“Outlander drivers are looking for an SUV they can use for their daily drive, but they can count on for their next adventure,” said MMAL Deputy Director of Marketing and Operations, Derek McIlroy.
“This year we’ve strengthened the range by taking customer feedback and adding additional safety, comfort and infotainment features. It’s a flexible and great value SUV.”
