Kicking off this afternoon the South Coast Automotive Speed on Tweed event in the picturesque northern NSW town of Murwillumbah will offer enthusiasts three days of terrific on- and off-track entertainment including a street party, parade, rock concert, celebrity driver appearances, show and shine event, demonstration laps and even fireworks.
As one of the region’s most popular major events, Speed on Tweed will also feature historic and classic car time trials with around 90 collectable cars participating in the event.
Among the big names to appear at this year’s event, John Cummins, Colin Bond and the legendary Sir Jack Brabham will be available for a chat and autograph, while on track, four-time
Australian Rally Champions Neal Bates and Coral Taylor will thrill spectators with demonstration laps in their Toyota Corolla S2000 rally car.
"This year’s program has something for everyone and we have especially tried to ensure it’s family-friendly," said Speed on Tweed Chairman, Bill Larkin.
"Between all the entertainment attractions, the racing cars are expected to complete six or seven runs each across Saturday and Sunday, so adult tickets for $25 per day or $40 for the weekend are extremely good value."
Tickets are available from the event with more information available at www.speedontweed.com.au
