Tesla's momentum in Australia continues to build, with the electric vehicle manufacturer announcing it will open its first retail-only store in Melbourne today (October 13).
The new store is located at Chadstone Shopping Centre in the Victorian capital's south-eastern suburbs, and will allow the public to inspect Tesla's Model S sedan and Model X SUV and learn more about the impending Model 3 sedan.
The opening represents yet another expansion for Tesla in Australia, with the Chadstone store joining combined service centres and stores in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond and on Sydney's Lower North Shore, as well as the brand's flagship store in Sydney's Martin Place.
Visitors to the Chadstone store will be able to customise their car's design via an in-house design studio and test-drive the Model S on surrounding roads. Tesla owners, meanwhile, will be able to charge their vehicle when shopping at Chadstone while utilising priority parking near Myer.
Tesla is one of many premium brands to be housed at Chadstone, which is presently undergoing a $660 million redevelopment.
