Volkswagen announced pricing last month for the Golf update, which even VW names 'Golf 7.5' to distinguish the mid-life refresh from the superseded Golf 7.
But now the importer has revealed it is introducing its revised small car range to Australia with the added retail incentive of drive-away pricing for all models other than the sporty GTI and R variants.
At entry level, the drive-away price for the Golf 110TSI is $23,990, matching the Manufacturer's Recommended List Price (MRLP) issued last month. It's the same for the DSG-equipped variant: $26,490 including on-road costs.
For the hatchback variants, the drive-away prices are $500 higher than the MRLP for the Trendline grade, $1000 higher for the Comfortline level of trim and $1500 higher for the Highline models.
The drive-away prices are $500 higher again for the wagon body style. This equates to an extra $1000 for the Trendline, an extra $1500 for Comfortline and $2000 more for Highline wagon. Alltrack variants are $1500 steeper than the MRLP, but all these prices are less than the cost of the cars with on-roads added to the MRLP.
In addition to the drive-away deal for the Golf 7.5, runout Golf 7 is being offered with a $2000 factory rebate. And that applies to the GTI and R performance variants as well as the other models in the range.
