Following on from the limited-edition McLaren 720S Le Mans, the team that took the famous 1995 win, Lanzante, will pay its own tribute to the F1 GTR victory with a seven-car run of LM 25s.
Lanzante has not released any details of its upcoming hypercar, which is rumoured to be based on the British car-maker's hard-core McLaren Senna, other than revealing the 'LM 25' name on its Instagram account.
When the Lanzante LM 25 arrives, it will follow both the P1 LM that was introduced in 2016 and the small run of road-legal P1 GTR-18s that was announced back in April.
The same British outfit was also behind the astonishing Formula 1 turbo TAG-powered Porsche 911, hinting at the levels of engineering ingenuity it will apply to the LM 25.
Potentially using the track-focused Senna GTR as a starting point, Lanzante is expected to not only convert the track special for road use, but will extract even more power than the 607kW and 800Nm the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 churns out.
Capable of generating up to 1000kg of downforce at 250km/h, it's thought the former Le Mans-winning racers will be forced to trade some of that high-speed stability to pass strict legislation, but not much, and any speed lost in the corners will easily be made up along the straights.
Already 10kg lighter than the standard Senna, the GTR could shed yet more weight, although one of the tasks facing engineers will be adding back a handbrake and swapping out the plexiglass windows for more durable glass.
Back when it was launched, McLaren said that the Senna GTR was capable of humbling the P1 GTR and, that only an F1 car would be able to post a quicker time on any given track.
In March 2019, McLaren announced it would make just 75 Senna GTRs, with each priced from £1.1 million ($A2m).
